Mark Hardy played 15 seasons in the NHL, most of which came with the Los Angeles Kings. He ranks 3rd in team history in scoring by a defenseman, his best season being in 1984-85 when he tallied 53 points in 78 games. In his 2nd to last season, Hardy was an important member of the Kings' 1992-93 team that made it to the Stanley Cup Finals where in Game 3 he delivered a notorious hit on Montreal's Mike Keane that sent him through the boards with enough force to dislodge two panes of glass. Offered in this lot is Hardy's game-used stick and helmet pair from his 1987-88 season with the Kings in which he recorded 32 points in a league-leading 80 games played. The CANADIEN 6001 white-painted wood stick has "HARDY" stamped in black on the upper shaft. Both the knob and blade are taped his game specifications. The bottom of the shaft is stamped with what looks like "gu87" which we believe stands for 'game-used 1987'. Stick shows a ton of game use. Hardy's white home CCM helmet has two Kings decals on both sides (four total) with the CCM logo stamped on the forehead. His No. "5" decal is affixed to the rear. The interior padding is intact but dried up from sweat and usage. The chinstrip appears to be the original. The helmet also shows a ton of game use. Great pairing from one of the Kings all-time great enforcers on the ice!

Includes Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
