The Anaheim Mighty Ducks made quite a splash upon their entrance into the NHL in 1993. Just two years later, they started building a solid nucleus from which to grow. The 1995-96 campaign would mark a big change for the team, especially for second-year superstar Paul Kariya. During the season, he was chosen to play for the Western Conference in the 1996 NHL All-Star Game as the lone Ducks representative. At the time of his selection, (January 1996), Kariya was ranked 14th in league scoring with 51 points (23 goals and 28 assists) over 42 games. The team was still one year away from tasting the postseason, although they did battle right up to the end to possibly qualify for the 1995-96 playoffs by finishing in ninth place in the Western Conference standings.

This lot features a pair of 1995-96 game ready Anaheim Mighty Ducks jerseys belonging to left winger Ken Baumgartner and center Anatoli Semenov. The two white home jerseys, manufactured by CCM Maska, both feature the original Ducks logo branded across the chest although Semenov’s patch has been faded severely due to too much exposure to direct sunlight. Trimmed in purple, gray and aqua stripes, the jerseys include all the proper CCM/Maska manufacturer’s tagging inside including a special “1996 Stanley Cup Playoffs” patch on the inside right rear tail provided they did qualify for the postseason, which they did not. Their respective jersey numbers (24 for Baumgartner and 93 for Semenov) appear in purple tackle twill outlined in white and aqua on both sleeves as well as across the back of the jersey in much larger fashion. Their last names appear across the back of their respective jerseys in purple tackle twill sewn directly onto white nameplates sewn onto the jerseys. Includes Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
