In 2003, the New Jersey Devils defeated the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, four games to three, in the Stanley Cup Finals. The Ducks, who finished second in the Pacific Division standings with a 42-27-9-6 record, won their first Western Conference title in 10 seasons before bowing to the Devils. This lot features a game-worn Anaheim Mighty Ducks road jersey donned by right wing Petr Sykora during the Stanley Cup Finals that season. Sykora played in 82 regular-season games and tallied 25 goals and 34 assists for a total of 59 points.

The size 54, 100% polyester purple-and-aqua KOHO road jersey, manufactured by Maska Air-Knit, shows game wear and features the “Mighty Ducks” emblem across the front. The team’s “Mighty Ducks of Anaheim” patch adorns both sleeves and a very special and embroidered “2003 Stanley Cup” Finals patch is featured on the right breast area. Sykora’s uniform number “39” is featured on both sleeves and on the back of the jersey in white tackle twill numbers outlined in purple and aqua. His nameplate – “SYKORA” – stretches across the back of the shoulders in white tackle twill lettering sewn directly onto a purple nameplate. Located on the inside left front of the jersey is a NHL/MeiGray tag indicating “NHL Game Worn Jersey 2002-2003 Season #A05979." A great piece of game-worn hockey memorabilia from the Mighty Ducks’ first visit to the Stanley Cup Finals.

Includes Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
