Canadian Dave Karpa broke into the NHL in 1991-92 with the Quebec Nordiques and played 12 seasons serving largely as a key defensive enforcer. Known to rack up his share of penalty minutes, Karpa played three and a half seasons with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks coming over via trade in 1994-95. Presented here is his game worn road jersey from the 1996-97 season when he followed up 270 penalty minutes the year prior with another 210 in the box. The purple and teal road Nike jersey is tagged "1996-97 SET 2" inside the back tail. Inside the collar is a Nike size 54 tag with an NHL Center Ice Authentic Collection tag just below. The Mighty Ducks team crest adorns the front, with Karpa's No. "33" on the shoulders and back in white-on-purple-on-teal tackle twill. "KARPA" is sewn in white on a purple nameplate on the back. Mighty Ducks patches adorn both sleeves. The Nike Swoosh and NHL logo patches are stitched on the back tail. The sweater shows excellent game use, with numerous slash marks and a small hole on the right shoulder, a couple rips on the front tail and some significant fraying on the inseam running down the right armpit. Looks like Karpa got into a little tussle wearing this beauty!

Includes Mighty Ducks team COA for a full uniform that includes this jersey. Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
