ADDENDUM: Heading update from catalog. The bat has since graded a 9 by PSA/DNA.

In 2013, just his second season with the Baltimore Orioles, Manny Machado broke out in a big way. Starting 156 games for the O’s at the hot corner, Machado batted .283 with 189 hits including 14 home runs and a league-leading 51 doubles. He also knocked in 71 runs for good measure. This lot features one of Machado’s game-used professional model Louisville Sluggers from that memorable season. The 34-inch black bat (#M318) shows terrific game use with contact and bat rack marks throughout the barrel. About half way up the bat there is a four-inch, all-the-way-around coating of pine tar. Also visible on the bat is an impression from a weighted batting donut. The date of manufacture (03/29/13), length (34.0) and weight (31.5 ounces) are all stamped into the bottom of the knob. It should be noted that the manufacturer misspelled Machado’s last name as “MACCADO” on the barrel.

Includes LOA from PSA/DNA (#1B09341) by John Taube with 9 game-used grade.
