Slugger Albert Pujols played his first 11 seasons in the big leagues with the St. Louis Cardinals and averaged 40 home runs per season. In his fourth season, 2004, “Prince Albert” led the Redbirds back to the World Series by claiming the National League pennant, the team’s 16th overall. Though they were swept in the World Series by a team of destiny, the Boston Red Sox, it was still a memorable campaign for Pujols and company. This lot features a 2004 Albert Pujols game-used “X-Bat” Professional Model bat that the burly first baseman used during the championship season, one in which he hit 46 home runs and drove in 123 runs. For good measure, he led the league in runs scored with 133. The 34-inch Model 24 black bat shows excessive wear with plenty of baseball contact throughout the barrel and has nearly a five-inch portion of the handle split right in half.
Includes LOA from the St. Louis Cardinals.
