Twenty-five-year-old Stephen Piscotty is now a right fielder and third baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals. He batted .305 last season for the Cardinals in 68 games and 233 at-bats. But before he got his call to play for the big club, Piscotty spent five seasons in the minors, the last three of which were spent playing for the AAA Memphis Redbirds of the Pacific Coast League.
This lot features Piscotty’s signed, inscribed and game-worn Memphis Redbirds jersey from the club’s “Egypt Night” that was held on June 7, 2014, at AutoZone Park against the visiting Nashville Brewers. The uniquely decorated Wilson (size 48) white polyester jersey reflects Egyptian designs with blue-and-gold stripes on the sleeves, a special decorative collar that includes red, blue and gold levels of design, and even an Egyptian Pharaoh sporting the head of a Cardinal (Redbird) on the front right side! On the jersey’s front left side is a gold design that includes Egyptian hieroglyphics. The front left tail of the jersey includes the proper Wilson manufacturer’s [size 48] tag, while the right front tail shows a special sewn-on tag that calls out the Memphis Redbirds logo with accompanying text that reads: “OFFICIAL GAME WORN JERSEY JUNE 7th, 2014.” Piscotty’s uniform number “33” adorns the back of the jersey in eight-inch-tall gold numbers (showing some gradation) outlined in blue. The jersey shows good game wear with dirt stains on the front and back. Piscotty has signed the jersey in two places including the first number “3” on the back as well as the front right side, just above the Redbirds/Pharaoh design. Piscotty has added an inscription reflecting his jersey number “33” as well as the date “6-7-14” to both signatures. This lot includes a 'Memphis Redbirds Salute to Egypt Night' photo card signed by #33 Piscotty in black sharpie, plus a Stephen Piscotty-themed Memphis Redbirds game day souvenir program.
