Regardless of your opinion on what kind of guy Pete Rose is, there is no arguing the fact that the 3-time World Series Champion and 17-time All-Star is one of the greatest hitters in baseball history. He holds MLB records for hits, singles, games played, and career at-bats. This full home uniform was worn by Rose during the 1985 season when he surpassed Ty Cobb to became the Hit King. The white knit pullover jersey has W.A. Goodman & Sons tagging on the front left tail with Pete's custom-ordered size 43 and washing instructions. On the left chest is the "REDS" logo in white and red tackle twill. On the right chest and back is his player number "14" and across the back is "ROSE". All numbering and lettering are done in the same red on white tackle twill. Rose has signed the jersey on the back number "4" in bold black marker that rates about a 9/10. The matching white pants have W.A. Goodman & Sons tagging on the inside of the rear waistline with his size 34 and washing instructions. Adjacent is a white strip tag that reads “ROSE 34-28.5 SET E ‘85”. The jersey and pants are properly tagged and shows light to moderate game use. Rose platooned during the '85 season, starting 110 games at first base. He batted .264 and accumulated 107 hits, getting famous number 4,192 on September 11. It should be noted that this uniform was listed by MEARS in a recent auction, but did not meet its reserve price. The MEARS online listing posted that it was an authentic uniform graded A7. (They detracted 2 points for provenance and 1 point for light wear.) However, the MEARS LOA and grade are no longer viewable online, per their policy when items do not sell.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
