The great Pete Rose, as infamous as he is famous, played in a total of 17 MLB All-Star Games throughout his 24-year (1963 to ’86) big league career. His 17th and final Mid-Summer Classic took place on July 16, 1985, at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis. The first pitch saw American League starter Nolan Ryan throw to National League leadoff batter, Pete Rose. In a surprisingly easy win, the N.L. contingent bested their A.L. counterparts by the score of 6-1.

This lot features a Pete Rose autographed and game-used official 1985 All-Star Game (Ueberroth) baseball from the contest complete with its red seams and red logos indicating the “1985 All-Star Game.” Rose signed it in blue ink right smack dab on the sweet spot and added “My Last All Star Game” just below it on the south panel. Despite the ball’s noticeable toning through the past 31 years, Rose’s signature remains intact and legible, rating a solid 8-9/10 in our book.

Autograph is pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
