The 1980 NFL season was a good one for the Philadelphia Eagles. Under the direction of head coach Dick Vermeil, the team won 12 of its first 16 games, and won the division for the first time in 20 seasons. The Eagles started the season by winning 11 of their first 12 games, only to finish the season losing three of their final four. Still, their 12–4 record was good enough to win the NFC East division title for the first time in franchise history since the NFC East had been formed. The 1980 campaign marked the Eagles' third consecutive playoff appearance under coach Vermeil, and culminated in the team's first Super Bowl appearance, where they were defeated by the Oakland Raiders, 27-10. Prior to the Super Bowl on Jan. 25, 1981, the Eagles had beaten the Minnesota Vikings, 31-16, in the divisional round of the playoffs on Jan. 3, before downing the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC title game, 20-7, on January 11.

This lot features a team-signed Philadelphia Eagles-branded Wilson football from that glorious NFC Champion season. The football, which remains in great shape, boasts 31 different signatures including notables such as quarterback Ron Jaworski, wide receiver Harold Carmichael, cornerback Herm Edwards and linebacker Bill Bergey. Other signatures, all in black ink, include: Mark Slater, Brenard Wilson, Keith Krepfle, Frank Lemaster, John Spagnola, John Sciarra and Perry Harrington. The signatures are all clear and remain in great shape. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
