The late, great Mickey Mantle hit a total of 536 home runs during his illustrious career with the New York Yankees. The three-time American League MVP (1956, ’57 and ’62) also helped the Bronx Bombers win seven World Series titles during his 19-year reign patrolling Yankee Stadium’s cavernous outfield. This lot features an original, 1 of 1 pencil drawing of Mantle beautifully done by renowned sports artist Christopher Paluso. Exquisitely framed and matted to overall dimensions of 21” wide by 26” high, the exquisite artwork depicts a portrait of Mantle meshed with an action shot of his powerful swing's follow through that jumps off the page. It even includes the very General’s Layout Pencil USA No. 555 pencil that Mantle used to autograph and inscribe the piece upon Paluso’s completion. Mantle has added his uniform number “No. 7” right underneath his signature. Both rate an almost perfect 9-10/10 in our book. This stunning piece has single-owner provenance and has never been publicly offered until now. The consignor had it signed in person by Mantle at an early 1990's East Coast National Show in Raritan, NJ.

Includes full LOA from PSA/DNA (Z01747).
