Ty Cobb has long been considered one of the greatest players of the dead ball era. With his fiery attitude and his love of the game he amassed a long resume of major league records, some of which he still holds today. Presented here is one of the weapons that the "Georgia Peach" used in his pursuit of baseball greatness. This Hillerich & Bradsby bat has a labeling period of 1921-31, but based on slight nuances present within the centerbrand it can be further dated to the 1923-25 period. The bat exhibits heavy use with ball and cleat marks present along the barrel, a trait commonly found on Cobb bats. The bat remains un-cracked and has a length of 33.25 inches and a weight of 34.5 ounces. It matches factory records for weight, but is slightly shorter than Cobb's factory records for length. Letter from MEARS with A6 grade.
