The 1936 New York Giants, managed by Hall of Famer Bill Terry, recorded an impressive 92-62 record to lock up the National League pennant by five games over a pair of runners-up, the Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals. Led by the big bat of Mel Ott (.328 batting average, 33 home runs, 135 RBI), the Giants kept teams at bay behind the powerful pitching of southpaw Carl Hubbell (26-6, 2.31 ERA, 123 K’s) who picked up his second N.L. MVP Award in four years.

This lot features a 1936 New York Giants National League Champions team-signed Official National League (Frick) Spalding baseball. The slightly toned sphere boats 19 signatures in black ink including Player/Manager Bill Terry across the sweet spot. Terry, in fact, who batted .310 with 71 hits in 79 games, has signed the baseball in two spots. Other notable autographs on the baseball include Hubbell, Ott, Whitey Whitehead, Sam Leslie, Hank Leiber, Hank Schumacher, Al Smith and Kiddo Davis. Although several of the signatures have faded over time, there are still quite a few that remain in intact and legible, especially the Hall of Famers.
