The late, great Stan Musial was a seven-time National League batting champion for the St. Louis Cardinals. Playing from 1941 to 1963, Musial battled for 22 seasons for the Redbirds (missing the 1945 season due to military service) and led the team to three World Series titles in 1942, ’44 and ’46. For good measure, Musial collected three N.L. MVP awards along the way: 1943, ’46 and ’48. He retired at the age of 42 with a lifetime batting average of .331.

This lot features a 1950’s Stan Musial autographed and game-worn St. Louis cardinals baseball cap. The aged navy blue Rawlings cap (size 7 3/8) is sporting the official “STL” logo on the front embroidered in red and outlined in white and shows a tremendous amount of wear throughout the seasons and includes his last name – “Musial” – written in black ink on the inside liner. The brim of the cap has broken up inside the stitching area but remains intact for display purposes. An official “Stan the Man" authentication label (#BB11161) appears on the inside liner right next to the Rawlings manufacturer’s tag. To top it off, Musial autographed the top of the brim in silver marker. Some color fading from sun exposure and sweat is apparent on the outer sides and back. A terrific piece of game-worn sports memorabilia captured during the incredible career of one of baseball’s favorite sons.

Autograph pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Includes Stan The Man COA (#BB11161).
