The great Brooks Robinson, the Baltimore Orioles longtime third baseman who earned the nickname “Human Vacuum Cleaner” by virtue of his flawless defense at the hot corner, played 23 seasons in the big leagues, all with the O’s. That mark tied Boston’s Carl Yastrzemski with the longest tenure by any single player with one team. Robinson was so proficient with his glove that he earned a MLB-record 16 straight Gold Glove awards from 1960 to 1975. He was also named an American League All-Star in each of those seasons except for 1975 and was named teh A.L. MVP in 1964.

This lot features a 1960’s Brooks Robinson autographed and game-worn Baltimore Orioles baseball cap. The aged Wilson professional model cap is sporting the team’s trademark black-and-orange Oriole logo on the front and the manufacturer’s tag sewn into the rear of the lining. The cap shows noticeable signs of excessive wear throughout. The underside of the brim even has Robinson’s uniform number “5” in slightly faded black marker alongside other marker colors which include a five-point star in red. The Hall of Famer has signed the top of the orange brim in black marker.

Autograph pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
