Dennis Higgins was a right-handed pitcher who played for four different teams over the course of his seven-year MLB career. In 1970, at age 30, he spent his only season in Cleveland pitching for the Indians. His record was 4-6 with 82 strikeouts, his second highest season total in K’s. This lot features his 1970 Cleveland Indians game-worn home jersey, the only season on record the Indians sported this style jersey.

The 46-year-old flannel jersey is in impeccable condition and sports “INDIANS” across the front in blue tackle twill letters outlined in red and white. The front left tail shows the proper Wilson (size 42) manufacturer’s tag above a separate embroidered year tag reading “1970” in red stitching. The Indians longstanding “Chief Wahoo” patch adorns the left sleeve. Across the back of the jersey is Higgins’ uniform number “35” in blue tackle twill numerals outlined in red and white. A rare piece of game-worn baseball memorabilia from a unique season in time for the Cleveland Indians ball club, a campaign in which they finished fifth in the American League East standings with a record of 76-86.
