The No. 1 pick in the 1987 amateur draft, Ken Griffey Jr. quickly established himself as the most exciting player in the game with his debut in Seattle in 1989, and by the time he left for Cincinnati 11 years later, his Cooperstown ticket had already been punched. With 630 career home runs, 13 All-Star appearances and 10 Gold Gloves, “The Kid” was clearly one of the game’s brightest stars as the new millennium dawned. This remarkable game-worn road alternate jersey traces its roots to the 1999 season. That year, the perennial MVP candidate hit 48 homers to lead the American League for the 3rd straight season. On the left front tail is the "Russell Athletic" manufacturers size 46 tag with wash instructions. Attached are the "100% POLYESTER" flag tag, “2’ EXTRA LENGTH” flag tag, “2’ Extra Sleeve Length” flag tag and "1999" strip tag. Across the front is "SEATTLE" in silver on navy blue on teal triple tackle twill. On back is the player number 24 in silver on teal tackle twill. Across the back is player name "GRIFFEY" in the same tackle twill on a navy blue nameplate. On the left sleeve is the Mariners logo patch. On the right sleeve is the Russell embroidered logo. The jersey shows light game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Griffey has penned his distinctive autograph in silver Sharpie below his name on the back.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA (auto.).
