Trevor Hoffman was one of the greatest closers in Major League Baseball history. In 18 seasons (16 with the San Diego Padres) Hoffman compiled a then-MLB record 601 saves, a mark since surpassed by the recently retired Mariano Rivera. This lot features Hoffman’s 2004 game-worn and signed Padres home jersey, another stellar year for the future Hall of Famer in which he tallied 41 saves with a 2.30 ERA. The white, size 50 Majestic polyester knit jersey has "Padres" across the front in navy blue tackle twill outlined in white and gold. Proper manufacturer's tagging is found on the left front tail with a washing instructions flag tag inside the inseam labeled with the important "0062" code. The San Diego Padres embroidered patch can be found on the left sleeve. "HOFFMAN" is sewn on a white nameplate across the back in navy blue tackle twill, with his uniform number "51" in navy-on-white and gold like the front team name. On the back '5' Hoffman has signed and inscribed "Johnny All the Best" in 9/10 silver marker. Hoffman personalized and gifted this jersey to his friend and former MLB catcher Johnny Estrada. Based on the Majestic tagging without a year flag tag and the fact that the jersey has no commemorative patches, we are calling this a 2004 gamer.

Includes LOA from Johnny Estrada. Full LOA from JSA (Y72342) for autograph and inscription. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
