Following his stellar playing career with the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers, right-hander Don Drysdale spent some time during spring training sessions working with some of the team’s up-and-coming pitchers. This lot features a 1980 Los Angeles Dodgers home white uniform that Drysdale wore during the team’s spring training period at Dodgertown in Vero Beach, Florida. The white jersey sports the name “Dodgers” in blue script tackle twill across the front just above his uniform number “53” in red tackle twill. The back of the jersey includes his last name – “DRYSDALE” – in blue tackle twill outlined in white as well as his uniform number (“53”) in similar fashion. The left sleeve sports a special embroidered red, white and blue patch reading: “LA Dodgers 1980 All-Star Game,” which signifies where the Mid-Summer Classic was played that season. The proper “W.A. Goodman & Sons” manufacturer’s tag can be found sewn-in to the inside of the rear collar.

The matching pair of Dodgers white pants also show the proper “W.A. Goodman & Sons” manufacturer’s tag on the waistband positioned to the left of a larger sewn-on white nameplate with blue script stitching that reads: “Drysdale 38/29 Set B ‘80” reflecting the owner, his waist size and inseam measurements, the set and the year. Both the jersey and pants how light use.

Includes LOA from the Drysdale Family.
