Baseball Hall of Famer Don Drysdale grew up in Los Angeles and attended Van Nuys High School in Van Nuys, California, where he was classmates with Robert Redford. As a senior, Drysdale led the Wolves with a 6-1 record. He was drafted by the then-Brooklyn Dodgers in 1954 straight out of high school. This lot features Drysdale’s very own Rawlings fielder’s mitt (“The Claw”) from his high school playing days. The well-worn, brown leather glove (Model T 70) shows incredible wear and tear and includes all of its original laces. You can still see on the back of the glove where Drysdale literally carved in his last name “DRYSDALE” plus what looks like his old street address. An incredible sports relic from the storied Baseball Hall of Fame career of one of the best right-handers to ever pitch in the majors.

Includes LOA from the Drysdale Family.
