This is extraordinarily rare (if not unique) full ticket to the February 12, 1900 Stanley Cup Hockey match between the Victoria of Winnipeg and Montreal Shamrocks played at the "ARENA" in Montreal. The Shamrocks won the Canadian Amateur Hockey League for the 2nd year in a row with a 7-1 record. Winnipeg, winners of the Manitoba Hockey Association, offered a challenge to Montreal to play for the Cup. Winnipeg won the first game of the best of 3 series, which this ticket represents, 4-3, before losing the next two to Montreal 3-2 and 5-4. Montreal was led by Hall of Famers Harry Trihey, Fred Scanlon, Jimmy Gardner, and Arthur Farrell while Winnipeg featured Hall of Famers Dan Bain and Jack Marshall. Both teams were early hockey powerhouses with Montreal winning the Cup 5 times over 1899-1900 and Winnipeg winning the Cup in 1896(2), 1901(2), and 1902(2). Between them they played and lost for the Cup 7 times. It is our understanding that this ticket originates from the personal collection of a player of the era, who was provided with this special box seat ticket (which carries a face value of $5, quite a sum in 1900) as a courtesy but apparently was not able to attend the game, thus explaining its survival in this remarkable and perfect unused form. This is an extremely rare ticket. Ticket is super clean and presents EX overall. To the best of our knowledge, this is the earliest complete Stanley Cup finals ticket known to exist and thus represents a particularly extraordinary piece of Stanley Cup hockey memorabilia from the games earliest days.

Encapsulated as AUTHENTIC by PSA/DNA. This is the earliest Stanley Cup full ticket authenticated by PSA/DNA to date.
