The 1953 New York Yankees finished the regular season with a record of 99–52, winning their 20th American League pennant, finishing 8.5 games ahead of the Cleveland Indians. In the World Series, the Yankees, managed by Casey Stengel, defeated the Brooklyn Dodgers in six games. This was the Yankees’ fifth consecutive World Series win, a record that still stands today.

This lot features a 1953 New York Yankees team-signed baseball on a photo plaque of the World Series Champions. The overall piece, which measures 12” wide by 15” high, includes a specially engraved plaque that reads “1953 N.Y. Yankees 5th Consecutive World Championship.” Above that is a sepia toned 1953 New York Yankees team photo that measures 10” wide by 8.5” high. On the bottom right portion of the plaque is a mounted New York Yankees team-signed OAL (Brown) baseball that’s been signed by 15 of the team members including Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle on the sweet spot. Other notable signatures include fellow HOFers Yogi Berra, Phil Rizzuto and Whitey Ford, along with Johnny Mize, John Sain, Allie Reynolds and Billy Martin.

Includes full LOA from PSA/DNA (E46134).
