Jon Arnett was a three-year letterman (1954-56) at USC. The halfback and punter played in the January 1, 1955 Rose Bowl, was All-American in the 1955 season, and captained the Trojans in 1956. He won the prestigious Voit Award, given to the top player on the West Coast in 1955 and '56. Jon was elected into the USC Athletic Hall of Fame in 1994 and the College Football Hall of Fame in 2001. This lot includes Arnett’s final season game-worn black leather cleats at USC, the same cleats he wore in his last game ever for the Trojans against the Stanford Cardinal. It also includes his actual purple-and-silver embroidered high school letter patch from Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles. Arnett was a member of the Class of 1952.
Includes LOA from John Arnett for the cleats. Also comes with Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum. The founder of the museum, John Hamilton, is a USC alum and chairman of the USC Athletic Hall of Fame. He has been a good friend of "Jaguar" for 30 years. Hamilton himself was enshrined in 2015 for his role in developing the USC Hall of Fame in 1994 and his many charitable endeavors, including the museum.
