1973 New York Mets National League Championship 12 karat gold-plated pendant necklace issued to the wife of then Mets General Manager Bob Scheffing. The baseball lifer served many years as a scout for the Mets before rising to Director of Player Development and eventually GM from 1970-74. The '73 Mets were one of the more fortunate teams in baseball history, finishing with a 82-79 record to claim the NL East division. Their .509 winning percentage remains the lowest of any pennant winner in MLB history. They lost a tight seven-game series to Oakland in the World Series. The necklace features a 1 1/8" in diameter pendant with a raised image of the New York Mets skyline logo on the front. The back side is blank. Clasp of chain stamped "1/20 12K". Weight 10 grams.
