In 2004, the Boston Red Sox reversed the curse and won their first World Series title in 86 years. After staging the greatest comeback in baseball history by defeating the New York Yankees in the ALCS after trailing three games to none, the Red Sox defeated the N.L. Champion St. Louis Cardinals in four straight games in the Fall Classic. Boston left fielder Manny Ramirez was named the World Series MVP after batting .412 (going 7-for-17) and knocking in four runs.

This lot features Ramirez’s game-worn Boston Red Sox alternate home jersey from that miraculous season. The red, size 54 Russell Athletic jersey includes proper tagging on the left front tail in the form of a “54 100% Polyester” strip tag and a white “2004” tag sewn onto the jersey just below the Russell Athletic manufacturer’s tag. The jersey includes “RED SOX” in navy blue tackle twill outlined in white across the chest as well as his jersey number (“24”) on the reverse in like fashion. The MLB red-white-and-blue logo patch can be found on the rear collar area. The game-worn jersey is in remarkable condition and shows only minor fraying and pilling around the letters and numbers.
