This is basketball Hall of Famer David Robinson’s 1992 game-issued USA Basketball Olympic jersey from the world-renowned “Dream Team” that captured the gold medal in men’s basketball at the 1992 Summer Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain. Robinson, a 7’ 1” center, was 26 years old. The team annihilated each opponent they played by an average of almost 44 points per game in capturing the gold medal. They defeated Croatia in the championship game by the score of 117-85, close by their standards, but blew out earlier opponents by the following margins: Angola (68 points); Croatia (the first time, 33); Germany (43); Brazil (44); Spain (41); Puerto Rico (38); and Lithuania (51).
On the left front tail of the size 46 white mesh jersey offered here is the "Champion" manufacturer’s label next to another label reading: “Designed and Tailored Exclusively for the 1992 Summer Olympic Games.” On the front of the jersey is the "USA Basketball" ironed on emblem and on the back is the name "D Robinson" in red ironed on letters. The player number "5" appears on both the front and back of the jersey ironed on in red with blue trim. Throughout the eight-game competition, Robinson averaged nine points and 4.1 rebounds per outing. Again, it should be noted that this jersey was presented to us as game-issued and shows no signs of wear.
