Retired major league catcher Ivan Rodriguez played a total of 21 years in the majors and closed out his prolific career in 2011 with a lifetime batting average of .296 to go along with 311 homers and 1,332 RBI. "Pudge" was a 14-time All-Star selection, a 13-time Gold Glove award winner, and the American League MVP in 1999. This lot features his 2008 Detroit Tigers game-worn home jersey. Pudge spent most of the 2008 season with the Tigers before being traded midseason to the Yankees. The white knit button-down jersey comes in size 46 with Majestic manufacturer’s tagging on the front left tail and a strip tag below that reads "7 46 08 088" in black. A washing instructions tag is located on the inside inseam of the 100% polyester shirt. The Detroit "D" logo is sewn on the chest in navy blue tackle twill, with Rodriguez's name and No. 7 on the back in the same fashion. The iconic MLB logo is at the back of the collar. Rodgriguez has signed on the upper back between his name and number with "#7" inscribed in 8/10 black marker. Jersey shows outstanding game use with significant pilling and soiling, and comes problem-free without alteration. Awesome gamer from one of the greatest backstops in history who should be enshrined in Cooperstown in 2017.
