Nice collection of yearbooks, programs, and other publications once belonging to long time baseball man Bob Scheffing. Scheffing spent 51 years in baseball, beginning as a St. Louis Cardinal farmhand in the 30's, Scheffing had stints in the Majors from 1941 through 1951 with the Cubs, Reds, and Cardinals. In the 50's he managed in the minors, then coached and managed the Chicago Cubs. In the early 1960's he managed the Detroit Tigers, earning the 1961 Manager of the Year Award for taking over a 6th place team and leading them to 101 victories and a 2nd place finish behind the World Champion New York Yankees. From 1970 through 1975 he was the General Manager of the New York Mets and served as a scout for them after leaving the position. Programs in decent condition but many do have some staining from smoke. Included are:

Detroit Tigers - Yearbooks: 1960, 1962. 1962 Goodwill Tour of Japan itinerary booklet. 4/28/1962 21st Annual Capuchin Charity Guild Baseball Dinner Program.

New York Mets publications - Yearbooks: 1969(2), 1970, 1971, 1974(N. L. Championship-World Series Edition)(4), 1975, 1976(2), 1977, 1978(2), 1979(2), 1980. Programs: 1969 World Series, 1973 World Series, 1974(6).

1949 copy of "The Cleveland Indians" signed by Bob Feller and 3 others.

1989 copy of "Yogi, It Ain't Over" signed by Yogi Berra.
