December 5, 1903 Toledo Mud Hens of the Class A American Association contract, signed by team official Charles J. Shobel, made out to infielder Neal Ball. Ball, a shortstop/2nd baseman, would go on the play in the American League from 1907 through 1913 with New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians, and Boston Red Sox. Contract calls for $150 a month and has not been signed by Ball. In 1903 Ball played in 28 games for the Mud Hens, batting .267. Contract itself is in great condition with just the original folds. Nice piece of early baseball history!
