The late Don Drysdale, himself a nine-time MLB All-Star, was awarded this specially engraved wristwatch when Major League Baseball celebrated its 50th All-Star Game Anniversary at Chicago’s Comiskey Park on July 6, 1983. A soon-to-be Hall of Famer the following year, Drysdale was gifted the commemorative wristwatch which was given to MLB All-Stars from the previous 49 years of Mid-Summer Classic competition. The front of the Baume & Mercier Swiss made watch sports the special “All-Star Game 50th Anniversary Sox” logo that was used for that year’s competition on its face, while the reverse side of the watch is engraved with the following text: “50TH ALL STAR GAME CHICAGO WHITE SOX .” A beautiful black leather band completes the wristwatch, which comes inside its original brown suede Baume & Mercier presentation box.
