Featured here is a OAL (MacPhail) baseball game-used by Hall of Fame reliever Rollie Fingers in Game 1 of the 1974 World Series between the Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Dodgers. The game was played on October 12, 1974 at Dodger Stadium. The A's won 3-2 thanks in large part to Fingers, who came on in the 5th inning with Oakland leading 2-1 and gave his team 4 1/3 innings of strong relief to earn the win. He gave up one earned with three strikeouts. Not bad considering he had eight stitches sewn in his scalp the day before after a clubhouse fight with teammate John Odom. The A's went on to take the series in five games for their third straight championship.

Fingers has signed the ball on the sweet spot in perfect 9/10 looking blue ballpoint pen and added "1974 WS Game Used Win Ball 10/12/74" to the panel to the left. Printed very neatly in black ink on the other panels is "1974 WORLD SERIES OPENING DAY OCTOBER 12, 1974 DODGER STADIUM ROLLIE FINGERS GAME USED BASEBALL" AND "ATHLETICS 4 DODGERS 1 UMPIRES GORMAN KUNKEL HARVEY DENKINGER". Outstanding game used baseball from the 1974 World Series signed by one of baseball's true characters.

Full LOA from MEARS with an AUTHENTIC rating for the game use. Full LOA from JSA for autograph. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
