Program to the World Heavyweight Championship Fight between Champion Jack Dempsey and challenger Georges Carpentier held at Boyle's Thirty Acres in Jersey City, New Jersey, on July 2, 1921 before a crowd of 91,000. This fight between "The Manassa Mauler" and the popular Frenchman, a World War I hero, generated the first $1,000,000 gate in boxing history. The heavily favored Dempsey, after starting slowly the first 2 rounds, began to brutally beat the challenger, ending the fight by knocking out Carpentier with a right hook to the head in the 4th. Front of program features portrait photos of both boxers. Inside pages loaded with photos and period ads. Front and back covers have been neatly reattached with glue using a strip of 1 1/4" paper on the spine. Program in overall G looking condition.
