In 1954, future Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher Don Drysdale was completing his senior season at Van Nuys High School in southern California. A top prospect of major league scouts, Drysdale finished his senior campaign for the Wolves with a record of 6-1. This lot features the team trophy that Drysdale received following that season. The award stands eight inches tall and features a gold-plated pitcher finishing his windup on top of a beige plastic base. A gold, wrap-around nameplate/plaque finishes off the award with the following engraved text: “D. DRYSDALE V.N.H.S. 54 W.6 L.1.” The 62-year-old trophy is in remarkably great shape and represents just the start of what became a Hall of Fame baseball career.

Includes LOA from the Drysdale Family.
