The late Don Drysdale had a fabulous pitching career with the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers during his 14-year MLB tenure as he racked up 209 victories for the Blue Crew. This lot features three awards Drysdale received from local southern California organizations during the second half of his career. The first is a wooden plaque he received from a pair of Masons’ Lodges (Loyalty #529 and Mount Olive #506) for being the “Winningest Pitcher of the Decade - 171 Wins – from 1958 to 1967.” The second plaque, in the form of a shield, is from “The Masquers” – whose motto is “We Laugh to Win – and acknowledges Big D with the following engraved text: “To Don Drysdale Our Own Cy Young of ’62 and Every Other Season.” The third and final wood plaque came from the Al Malaikah Shrine Temple in 1969, Drysdale’s final season, and is engraved with the following text: “Presented to Don Drysdale for His Outstanding Achievements and Many Contributions to Baseball Both On and Off the Field.” As a native of southern California, Drysdale certainly had his share of fans and admirers from the local area!

Includes LOA from the Drysdale Family.
