Beyond the sports of baseball, Cooperstown inductee Don Drysdale was a prolific golfer who enjoyed getting out on the links as much as he could. The late Dodgers’ great was both a student of golf and a collector of golf items through the years. This lot features a pristine collection of a dozen numbered Bobby Jones Callaway golf balls released in 1990 inside a beautiful collector’s box that measures 6.5” wide by nine inches tall. The cover of the collector’s box boasts a porcelain tile showing Jones in his prime, holding a driver. The felt-lined box also contains a 16-page pamphlet entitled “BOBBY JONES” written by Charles Price that provides a history and perspective about Jones as well as the major influence he had on the game’s mass appeal.
Includes LOA from the Drysdale family.
