In 1992, just a year in front of Dodgers’ Hall of Fame pitcher Don Drysdale’s untimely death at the age of 56, artist Michael Ricker produced a limited series of pewter statues entitled “The Legend Lives.” Offered here is an extremely rare artist proof version of “The Legend Lives” that Ricker produced. The statue, which is positioned on top of a marble base, shows a fully uniformed Drysdale kneeling down to sign a baseball for an eager youngster, also wearing a baseball uniform. The scene includes Drysdale’s actual signature (slightly smudged) in blue marker on a three-inch strip of metal. The piece weighs just over 13 pounds. A beautiful piece of art capturing the innocence of baseball.

Includes LOA from the Drysdale Family.
