Don Drysdale received this wooden appreciation plaque for participating in Casey Stengel’s 80th birthday celebration at Shea Stadium (the original home of the Mets) on July 11, 1970, in Flushing, New York. The 14” wide by 17” high plaque sports a metal sheet on its surface that reads: “Ninth Annual Oldtimers’ Day – DON DRYSDALE – In Appreciation of Your Participation in Casey Stengel’s 80th Birthday Celebration – METS – July 11, 1970, Shea Stadium.” A head-and-shoulder photo of Drysdale wearing his Los Angeles Dodgers’ baseball cap completes the oversized plaque's presentation.
Includes LOA from the Drysdale Family.
