Beyond his baseball pitching prowess, the late Don Drysdale was also a pretty good golfer who enjoyed his time out on the links. An annual tournament that he truly enjoyed playing in was the Bing Crosby Pro-Am, which was played most often at the Pebble Beach Golf Links in northern California. This lot features a pair of Jack Daniels liquor sets that were awarded to participants in both 1966 – the 25th Anniversary of the event – and 1967. Both of the felt-lined wooden boxes, which measure 9.5” wide by three inches high by six inches deep, contain one unopened pint bottle of Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 brand whiskey (90 proof) along with four Jack Daniel’s shot glasses. Complete with closing latches on the front, both boxes also include specially engraved silver-plated plaques on the top. The first one, from 1966, reads “Presented to DON DRYSDALE Bing Crosby Pro-Am Silver Anniversary Tournament” while the second one reads “Presented to DON DRYSDALE Bing Crosby Pro-Am January 1967.”
Includes LOA from the Drysdale Family.
