The late, great John Wooden once said: "Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to become the best you are capable of becoming." He used to frequently teach his no-famous “pyramid of success” which included 15 different characteristics such as poise, confidence and loyalty.

On April 16, 1988, Los Angeles Dodgers Hall of Fame pitcher Don Drysdale received the “John Wooden Sportsman Award” presented by the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation. The 12” tall award includes a nine-inch wide wooden base upon which is placed a crystal pyramid that features an artist’s rendering of Coach Wooden knelling down with a basketball while wearing his UCLA practice sweater complete with a whistle around his neck. The impressive award was given to Don Drysdale “For Exemplary Leadership and Accomplishments.”

Includes LOA from the Drysdale Family.
