Former third baseman Carney Lansford was a .290 career hitter who batted an American League-leading .336 in 1981 for the Boston Red Sox. After two seasons in Boston, Lansford would wind up spending the next 10 seasons with the Oakland A’s helping them win the World Series in 1989. This lot features his game-worn Oakland A’s road jersey from 1985, a season in which he batted .277 with 13 home runs and 46 RBI in 98 games. On the inside of the front right tail is a “Rawlings” size “44” manufacturer’s tag and a flag tag that reads “SET 2 1985.” Across the chest reads “OAKLAND” and on the back is his player uniform number “4,” both done in white on yellow tackle twill. Also on the back is his last name “LANSFORD” in white tackle twill sewn directly onto the green jersey. The jersey is properly tagged and shows moderate wear. Comes unaltered and as-issued.
