Presented here is a spectacular road jersey worn by the Hall of Fame hurler Catfish Hunter during his Cy Young winning season in 1974 capped off in October with Oakland's third consecutive World Series Championship. The green knit pullover has the distinctive “A’s” on the front in white and gold tackle twill and his famed No. 27 in the same fashion on the back. “Hunter” is on the back in white tackle twill affixed directly to the shirt; alternating light green and gold striping adorns each sleeve and gold and white elastic on the collar. McAuliffe tagging appears on the bottom front inside, with flag tags of “1974” embroidered in blue and “44” in navy blue below. A wash instructions tag also appears on the front inside right tail. All original and unaltered, the shirt boasts of good game wear (including photo matching to World Series Game One), with a bit of the expected fraying of some of the white and yellow stitching front and back. This is a museum-quality piece from one of the true legends and characters of baseball.
