Sweet pair of Converse All-Star sneaker game-worn and autographed by Brooklyn basketball legend and 2013 Hall of Fame inductee Bernard King. The 6'7" forward who played his college ball at the University of Tennessee was drafted #7 overall by the New Jersey Nets in 1977 and played for five teams in his 14 NBA seasons including the Knicks, Jazz, Warriors and Bullets. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of King's game was his fearlessness and ability to overcome the many obstacles put in his way. Stuck on bad teams pretty much his entire career, the man simply lowered his head and went to work. He lost two full seasons due to gruesome injuries, none more severe than when he blew out his knee in 1985 with the Knicks. Yet, both times he came back. His 22.3 career scoring average is a testament to his consistency and relentless offensive production. The dude could flat out score. Photo evidence indicates that King wore these 1983-85, likely right up until his severe knee injury. The 1984-85 season was the best of King's career as he led the NBA in scoring at 32.9 ppg.

These size 14 1/2 high-top Converse All-Stars come in white leather with navy blue Converse logo and a navy blue horseshoe-shaped feature around the heals. "B KING" is stamped on the outside of each angle denoting they were made for King. He has signed the upper ankle of each shoe "Best Wishes Bernard King N.Y. Knicks #30" in 7-8/10 blue pen. The shoes exhibit wear consistent with game use on the outsole and exterior. The original laces are intact. Overall, they come as-issued and problem-free, just as the great Bernard King would like them to be! Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
