This handsome 1972 UCLA Bruins Classic Bulova Watch was awarded to the players, coaches and staff who took part in the The 1972–73 UCLA Bruins Classic, which UCLA won, which is hardly surprisingly because they didn't lose much in those days and not at all in 1972-73. So this Bill Walton-led squad nailed down the National Championship, the seventh in a row for UCLA, a record unmatched before or since. Seems more than fitting that such an historic run might be concluded in the fashion that it was, with UCLA beating the Memphis Tigers, 87–66, in NCAA Championship, a game in which Walton made 21 of 22 field goal attempts and scored 44 points. Some (moi included) regard this as the greatest ever offensive performance in American college basketball. The watch is in superb condition, with sterling silver back and an attractive face that pictures Pauley Pavilion with the words "Bulova, Bruin Basketball Classic, 1972." The windup watch is in working order with pristine lizard calf watch band. All elements appear to be in largely as-issued and problem-free condition, nudged only a bit by the tiniest of scratches on the sterling silver back.
