PR PSA 1 ticket stub to the World Heavyweight Championship fight between Champion Robert Fitzsimmons and challenger James J. Jeffries held at the new Coney Island Sporting Club in Brooklyn, New York. In the 11th round of the scheduled 25 round fight, Jeffries knocked out Fitzsimmons to take the World Heavyweight Championship. Jeffries retained the title until 1905, retiring undefeated. 6 years later he was lured out retirement with a guaranteed contract that would be worth over $1,000,000 in today's money to fight to fight Jack Johnson for the title in Reno, Nevada. Out of shape and suffering under the blazing heat, the "Great White Hope" was knocked completely out of the ring by Johnson. With the fight stopped to prevent Jeffries from being knocked out for the first time in his career, Johnson was awarded a technical knockout. Ticket stub displays very well despite several creases and damage to the lower left corner. The only ticket, full or stub, to this historic fight.!
