ADDENDUM: THIS IS A PROOF-NOT VALID FOR ADMISSION TICKET

PSA AUTHENTIC Full PROOF - NOT VALID FOR ADMISSION - PUNCHED/CANCELLED Ticket to the World Heavyweight Championship Fight between Champion Jack Dempsey and challenger Luis Angel Firpo, the Bull of the Pampas, held at the Polo Grounds in New York on September 14, 1923 before 80,000 fans. This would turn out to be one of the more interesting title fights in boxing history. Firpo knocked down Dempsey to begin the fight. Dempsey recovered and proceeded to knock Firpo down 7 times.(There was no 3 knock down rule at this time) Now things get interesting. Toward the end of the first round Firpo catches Dempsey with a right to the chin, knocking him over the ropes, feet up in the air, right into a writer's lap. While going down Dempsey hit a ringside typewriter and suffered a severe cut to the back of the head. With the help of the writers at ringside, Dempsey was able to get back into the ring. The referee was at a count of 4 when this occurred. Others in attendance clocked the time until Dempsey finally stood up at 14 seconds. This 'slow" count cost Firpo the Championship and saved the title for Dempsey as he recovered enough to knock Firpo out in the 2nd round. Super clean ticket with rounding to corners. Ticket has been neatly punched/cancelled 4 times. The only full ticket to this important fight handled by PSA.
