Hall of Fame closer Goose Gossage's 1984 San Diego Padres brown road uniform game worn during the 1984 World Series against the Detroit Tigers. Gossage has signed the number "4" on the back in perfect looking 9-10/10 black felt tip pen "Goose Gossage W. S. GAME WORN". Gossage came to the Padres in 1984 as a free agent and became a major part of their first National League Championship team, appearing in 62 games with a 10-6 record, 2.90 ERA, and 25 Saves. He was also named to the 1984 National League All-Star team. He appeared in 3 games of the 1984 NLCS against the Cubs and registered a Save in the deciding Game 5. In the 1984 World Series he appeared in 2 games with mixed results as the Detroit Tigers downed the Padres 4 games to 1. "padres" sewn on the front with large "54" on the back, both in gold with orange trim. "GOSSAGE" in gold sewn on nameplate at top back. Collar and sleeves all trimmed in orange and gold. Gold "RAK" patch sewn on left sleeve in honor of the passing of Padres owner Ray Kroc in January of 1984. Wilson size 46 tag sewn in collar with "54 84" tag sewn in front tail. Matching white home pants have gold, orange, and brown striping down sides. Wilson tag sewn in waist has "37" on top with "54 84 29" tag sewn also into waist. Both jersey and pants exhibit moderate wear. Pants also have some staining. Incredible piece of San Diego Padres World Series history!
