Interesting July 7, 1936 typed signed letter from Rogers Hornsby on St. Louis Browns letterhead responding to a fan who had asked Hornsby to recommend that the club sign him. Hornsby thoroughly tells the man all that goes into signing a player and tells him he "could not recommend you for the reason that I have not seen you in action". He does tell him to "run over for a try out" the next time the Browns are in New York but advises him to "Bring your own uniform, shoes, and glove". Hornsby has signed in very strong looking 9/10 vintage black steel tip fountain pen. Letter itself in nice condition with some toning along the original folds. The original St. Louis Browns return envelope is also present, in about VG condition. Awesome condition Hornsby signature!

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
