The 1999 Yankees proved once and for all that not only were they the baseball team of the '90s, but they are undoubtedly the greatest sports franchise of the 20th century. Coming off one of the most incredible seasons ever in 1998, the Yankees returned to win a remarkable 18 of 19 post-season games in 1999. They swept the World Series for the second year in a row, and continued a string of 12 straight World Series Game victories.

Here offered is a full-size version of the Yankees championship Commissioner's trophy celebrating the team's 1999 Fall Classic triumph. The oversized prize is arranged upon a 4-1/4"-tall, 13"-diameter base, which bears a surrounding gold-colored band with engraved lettering reading, "WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS - New York Yankees – 1999 JOE TORRE." (On the back side of the trophy's base, a line on this band, in comparable lettering, reads, "Copyright © 1983 Commissioner of Baseball.") Atop the black base, another gold-colored band has a gold-colored baseball at its base and a crown figure at the top. Proudly standing at the front of the display are press pin replicas representing the respective combatants. Surrounding the base are 30 gold-colored flags that, in alphabetical order, bear the names of each Major League team. The trophy measures 25" tall overall and weighs 35 lbs.). This awe-inspiring trophy, celebrating the Yankees 25th World Title, was produced as a front office display. Near Mint to Mint condition.
