With eight career batting titles, Tony Gwynn is unsurpassed in National League history. Save for Ty Cobb and Napoleon Lajoie, Gwynn needed fewer games (2,284) to join the 3,000-hit club than any of the esteemed fraternity's members. Offered here is an autographed bat employed by the San Diego icon in the 1999-00 period. The blonde Louisville Slugger, "B267" professional model bat is cracked and shows evidence of excellent use. Several ball marks and stitch impressions are visible on the front left side of the barrel including a few very evident transfer marks. Also visible on the bat is a coat of pine tar that adorns the upper handle. Gwynn’s custom handle tape, used to enhance his grip, is featured as well. Black marker notations of "B267c". “33-30-1/2” and "19" appear on the knob and "B267c" and "19" are repeated in the cupped barrel end in black marker. Among its custom barrel markings are a red, white and blue colorized version of the MLB logo. Gwynn signed the barrel above the barrel stampings in large black Sharpie. A superior Gwynn gamer from the period with ideal usage traits and display quality.
