For memorabilia collectors in general and shoe aficionados in particular, this may be the Holy Grail of collectibles. Bob Lanier's almost mythological Size 18 1/2 shoes, like the ones proudly ensconced in the Basketball Hall of Fame, are presented here with almost the status of a cultural icon. Lanier was a three-time Converse All-America selection at St. Bonaventure who was later drafted No. 1 overall by the Detroit Pistons. In his 14 NBA seasons, Lanier averaged 20.1 points and 10.1 rebounds per game, played in eight All-Star Games, and was named Most Valuable Player of the 1974 game. Lanier was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1992. Probably untrue to suggest that his shoes got to Springfield 10 minutes before he did. Lanier wore these stunning Converse All Star shoes during his fabled NBA career, then enhanced the game-used beauties by adding black Sharpie autographs and inscriptions on each: signature and "#16" inscription are on the right shoe; "Bill, Best Wishes, Bob Lanier, #16" adorns the left. The white-leather shoes show game use but remain remarkably pristine, with all elements intact and largely as-issued. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from Bill Ficke.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
